About the organisation
ADSSI Limited is a growing and progressive community aged and disability care organisation providing services on the Central Coast and in the Hunter and Northern Sydney Regions.
The recent resignation of the Treasurer, as well as the anticipated refreshment of other Director roles (according to our Constitution) next year, necessitates the recruitment of several experienced Non-Executive Directors with connections or interests in the Central Coast or Hunter Region. One of these new recruits, with extensive financial expertise and experience, will be offered the role of Treasurer in the near future.
ADSSI Limited operates from five sites—two at Tuggerah on the Central Coast and Maitland, Beresfield, and Dungog in the Hunter. We are a $40M not-for-profit organisation that provides practical in-home support that promotes choice, lifestyle, and independence. Our mission is to help individuals live their best lives by providing exceptional care, support, and services tailored to their unique needs in the comfort of their own homes.
About the role
The roles will require you to work with the Board and relevant Subcommittees, manage financial and business risk, and contribute to meeting the strategic, regulatory, and governance challenges ADSSI faces. The Board meets in the evening on the last Tuesday of each month via Teams/Zoom and quarterly face-to-face, generally from Charlestown. The option of payment for time/expenses incurred in preparing for and attending Board meetings is available.
Our selection criteria focus on the following experience and qualities:
For the future Treasurer role:
- preferably CA/CPA/IPA qualification, and
- 2-5 years of in-depth data analysis, including balance sheet and cash flow, financial interpretation and reporting experience
- Solid understanding and experience in strategic financial and trend analysis
In conjunction with the following requirements for all ADSSI Directors:
- Governance experience with a medium/large not-for-profit organisation
- Excellent communication skills and proactive and positive attitude
- A deep understanding of the governance duties of Non-Executive Directors
- A connection to or experience with the aged care/disability sectors
- A strong alignment with ADSSI Limited’s Vision, Purpose and Values
- An understanding of the broad regional challenges that affect the delivery of services across the Central Coast and Hunter areas
Highly Desirable:
- Experience working in the aged or disability care environment
