The Organisation
Based in the Inner East/City fringe Melbourne and close to public transport, our client is an industry-owned, industry-led, not-for-profit organisation. Highly regarded and at the forefront of their target industry, they partner collaboratively with their stakeholders to continuously improve and empower workforces within their sector.

The Role
The Research Officer/Analyst plays a critical role in making a substantial contribution to the organisation’s policy development and strategic decision making.  The incumbent will lead research activities, design and implement research projects, analyse data, and communicate findings to inform policy development and workforce planning practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled researcher who is passionate about helping industries adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment!

Key elements of the role are
  • Co-design and implement research projects to aid current and future workforce requirements.
  • Research current and future trends that may impact future workforce availability and the implications for sector requirements.
  • Undertake research to document and inform decision-making about industry/social/economic/labour market developments and challenges and government priorities 
  • Contribute to the collection, analysis and interpretation of high-quality job, workforce and training data 
  • Draft input to industry policies and standards designed to guide workforce planning and capability development activities 

This is a full-time permanent position ideally based in Melbourne however we will also consider candidates residing in Canberra, Sydney, or Perth.

About You
You are a professional with research prowess and are highly skilled at translating research findings into actionable insights. You are driven by continuous learning and passionate about addressing critical issues such as skills gaps, workforce development, and social equity. You ideally have experience working in either education, government, or not for profit sectors in a similar research based role. You have demonstrable experience undertaking research that synthesises and analyses information from a range of data sources. You enjoy using a range of research methodologies, from quantitative data analysis to qualitative interviews, which keeps your work varied and engaging.

The Offer
A salary of circa $90K plus superannuation is on offer, commensurate with experience. Attractive PBI/NFP salary packaging and hybrid/WFH working options are also available. The role may also be located in Canberra, Sydney or Perth.
