Under the leadership of Chancellor Steve Bracks and Vice-Chancellor Adam Shoemaker, this is an exciting opportunity for a philanthropy professional to join a growing Alumni Relations and Philanthropy team.
VU is seeking a motivated and creative individual who will manage the identification, cultivation and stewardship of major donors, and play a critical role in the growth of philanthropic income at VU.
Working closely with the Associate Director of Philanthropy and the Director of Advancement, the Senior Philanthropy Coordinator will have experience in best practice, donor-centric relationship fundraising.
About the person
The successful applicant will:
- Have an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education, with 5+ years’ experience in a fundraising or philanthropy role.
- Demonstrated experience in relationship fundraising, with experience in qualifying prospective major donors and driving the growth of philanthropic income.
- Demonstrated experience in providing outstanding donor stewardship.
- Demonstrated experience in business planning and income forecasting.
- Excellent high-level interpersonal skills.
Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:
- Implements best practice relationship management strategies with major donors, with a focus on cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to increase engagement and giving
- Collaborates to develop tailored and impactful proposals and reports to major donors, working directly with academic staff and/or external suppliers as necessary
- Collaborates with academics and professional staff to implement best practice and streamlined approaches to major donor stewardship across the University
