About the Opportunity
This role is a maximum term contract in the People, Quality, and Safety (PQS) Team. The Human Resources (HR) team provides leadership in the development and provision of HR strategies and practices that position Melbourne City Mission (MCM) as an employer of choice in the sector. The team provides expertise, leadership, and support to MCM’s operational programs across a range of areas. The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator delivers timely and effective HR co-ordination and administrative support to managers and employees, fostering system improvement and maintaining a high level of internal customer and candidate experience. This role provides training/coaching to the HR Systems Advisor role in best practice ways of working and looks to build the capability of leaders and employees in HR/people systems administration, particularly in using the HRIS. This role is the HRIS Champion for the People team.
About you
We are looking for someone who can support MCM group by:
- Work with the hiring managers to draft and post ads for available roles within the business.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of ads and work with the P&C team on continuously improving recruitment and selection practices.
- Establish a talent pool of candidates for MCM and actively source from these talent pools.
- Source potential candidates through online career portals, recruitment sites, job boards, social platforms as well as printed media, when required.
- Liaise with managers and candidates to provide a great experience for potential and successful candidates.
- Effectively managing general HR enquiries as the central contact point and providing timely responses and solutions.
- Performing pre-employment safety screening checks and delivering ongoing HR compliance activities.
- Coordinating and delivering HR documentation including employment contracts and other employment-related documentation such as position descriptions, contracts.
- Performing onboarding tasks and processes including establishing new starters, assisting facilitating Corporate Induction.
- Driving improvement opportunities in human resources information system(s).
- Conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance is maintained on employee records and credentials.
- Extract and deliver HR data and information, reporting and analysis to support HR operations and for stakeholders, including participating in the review and analysis of onboarding and offboarding survey data and development of report for management audiences and sending out exit surveys and may assist in conducting exit interviews
- Providing training and support to team members.
- Interpreting and providing advice to staff and managers regarding employment conditions and organisational policies and procedures.
- Performing onboarding tasks and processes including establishing new starters, facilitating Corporate Induction.
- Supporting managers to undertake probation management/review processes.
Essential:
- Recruitment and HR administration experience including data entry.
- A qualification in HR or related discipline.
- The ability to work under pressure and with high work volumes, and effectively manage tasks and priorities to completion.
- Experience in interpreting, understanding and articulating employment conditions and legislation.
- Experience analysing and interpreting data to generate meaningful information for reporting.
- The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others and collaborate to achieve positive outcomes.
