About the organisation
The Brighton Recreational Centre (BRC) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation providing recreational, educational and sporting activities to reflect the needs of all ages and abilities in the local community. We have been operating for more than 45 years in the Bayside (Vic) community.
We offer a diverse range of programs, classes and social activities for children and adults in a fun, connected and welcoming environment.
We have just launched a brand new, state of the art facility, having recently undergone a complete multi-million dollar expansion and rebuild.
About the role
BRC is seeking to appoint 3 non-executive directors, increasing the number of directors on the board to 7, recruiting additional competencies to the board such as:
- Marketing & media
- Fund raising
- Partnerships
- Community connections
- Fitness industry
- Information technology
The role requires attending approximately 10 board meetings per year with associated preparation. Given the recent re-opening of the centre the role may require attendance for some operational matters to establish the right processes in the directors’ areas of expertise.
