The Organisation:
Based on the city fringe and close to public transport, our client is a highly regarded industry-owned, industry-led not for profit organisation addressing skills and workforce issues for its sector. It acts as an industry voice, promoting the industry’s vital role at the centre of the Australian economy with a focus on workforce needs and skills development.

At the forefront of their sector, and working with stakeholders across Australia, they support the development of skilled workforces that enables the sector to succeed.

The Role:
The Manager Training Products and Projects is responsible for managing the development of high quality, innovative, nationally recognised, training products and services and for providing expert advice to industry, enterprises and the organisation’s partners within the VET system to guide training program development.

You will lead the work of a highly skilled team to deliver a core program of work for the organisation, in line with its business plan and its contract with the Federal Government. 

Key elements of the role are:
  • Manage and lead a small team
  • Communicate and engage with industry stakeholders, including the Board, enterprises and industry training advisory bodies
  • Support the Executive Manager in leading the development of training products and materials to support training delivery
  • Ensure that training product development is informed by comprehensive research and workforce analysis
  • Prepare advice, briefings, correspondence, presentations and submissions to the CEO, the Board, the Commonwealth and other relevant bodies

The Person:

To be considered for this great opportunity you will have:
  • An understanding of the policy environment within which the Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system operates
  • Demonstrated project management experience including in relation to contract and financial management 
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective and well-respected relationships with industry, government and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and proficiency in leading and conducting applied research 
  • The ability to provide effective leadership, support and clarity to and to build the capability of a team.

The Offer:

A salary of around $140K plus superannuation is on offer, commensurate with experience. City fringe location with hybrid working options.
