Catholic Care Western Sydney & the Blue Mountains seeking a dedicated Manager of Community Engagement and Development to lead and coordinate activities across community centres in Western Sydney. This 12 month fixed term contract involves overseeing community development initiatives, managing a small team of staff and volunteers, and ensuring alignment with strategic plans. You will conduct evidence-based research to identify community needs, implement projects, and foster relationships with stakeholders. Additionally, you will play a key role in partnerships networking to secure funding for local community projects.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a small team of community engagement workers & volunteers.
  • Develop and implement community programs addressing local needs.
  • Conduct community consultations and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare funding submissions and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and partners to enhance networking opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate meetings and represent Catholic Care at community forums.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Welfare, Community Services, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Community Services or a similar role.
  • Proven track record in managing community projects and teams.
  • Prior experience with funding submissions  
  • Experience in building and maintaining partnerships and networking with community stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong research, strategic planning, and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.

Requirements:

  • Subject to National Criminal Record Check and Working With Children Check.
  • Covid-19 Vaccination (minimum 2 doses).
