ABOUT US

At the Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL), we see possibilities. With over 90 years of working alongside policymakers and the community, our legacy of advocating for poverty prevention and systemic change speaks volumes.

We believe in unlocking potential and not being defined by limitations. We champion choice, community, and individual strength by helping individuals thrive, not just survive.

We are a Partner in the Community to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and deliver the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the North East Melbourne, Hume Merri-bek, Brimbank Melton, Western Melbourne and Bayside Peninsula areas.

Collaboration is key. We value and work closely with families, friends, and carers, recognising their crucial role in creating a supportive community. Because support matters.

We want to create a more compassionate and inclusive society where everyone, regardless of ability, can fully participate.

This isn’t just a job; it’s a mission to create lasting change.

  • Implement and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure best practice is upheld and customers experience continuity of service.

ABOUT THE PILOT PROJECT

The Enhanced Early Support Pilot is a limited funded project, run by a small specialist team to deliver community-based family centered information, assessment, and support services in line with the NDIS Early Childhood approach.

This demonstration pilot aims to provide timely and effective assistance to families who don’t access NDIS funding through the use of a primary service provider model. This pilot builds on the BSL Disability Services Early Supports offered to demonstrate what supports could influence the developmental trajectory of young children with developmental concerns.

This pilot will be conducted in the Brimbank Melton region and travel within this region is an expectation of this role. This pilot will be delivered in natural, community settings including family homes, kindergartens, day care centres, etc. It is not an expectation that sessions will be delivered from BSL Disability Services office locations.
