About the Role:
The Donor Database Manager plays a key role in supporting fundraising activities across MCM, with specific responsibility for managing all aspects of the Raiser’s Edge database, developing and implementing a database strategy. Working closely with the Fundraising and Brand Teams you will support fundraising strategies, by providing regular analysis, reporting, and the database infrastructure to grow and retain support.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Strategy & Operational Planning/Delivery: managing and improving database systems, optimising database configurations for supporter growth and lead data integration initiatives to enhance data management
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance, Quality Management: ensure database integrity, compliance, and security by maintaining up-to-date policies, procedures, and reporting aligned with strategy, privacy policies, and legal regulations
  • Operational Excellence: oversee the CRM, ensure accurate gift processing and reporting, collaborate across teams for reconciliation and forecasting, manage workflows for fundraising support, segment and extract data for campaigns, and lead user training on database systems
  • Stakeholder Management/Engagement:  ensure cross-team collaboration and communication and to drive a donor-centric focus in the supporter services/database team
  • People & Performance Management: provide effective leadership and management of the Donor Database Co-ordinator and other administration and database roles

About You:

As an experienced Donor Database Manager you will have strong business acumen, attention to detail, succinctness in delivery of communication and ideas and adaptability. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience with 5+ years managing complex databases, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and optimise database structures, workflows, and analytics to enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and business insights
  • Demonstrated success in handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and resolving database-related challenges within budgetary constraints
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, donor engagement strategies, segmentation, and lifecycle management, with an innovative approach to improving database processes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate, work under pressure, and maintain effective relationships across teams
