About the organisation
The Alliance for Gambling Reform is a national advocacy organisation working to prevent and reduce the harm from gambling in Australia. We seek to affect legislative and regulatory reform of the gambling sector and to have gambling-related harm treated as a public health issue. We are not prohibitionist. Rather, we seek to influence government to prevent and reduce the harm from gambling in Australia.
OUR PURPOSE
To provide national leadership promoting action to prevent and reduce the harm from gambling in Australia.
OUR VISION
To enjoy a just, healthy, and prosperous Australia, where people can happily socialise together, and flourish without the harm created by gambling. By working together, we can achieve an Australia where there is no longer a need for our organisation.
About the role
The Alliance for Gambling Reform relies heavily on our incredible Leadership Councils who contribute to our work to reduce the harm caused by gambling and help raise awareness of the need for gambling reform in Australia. Success in this role will include strengthening and building our partnerships.
Working closely with the Director of Policy, Leadership Councils and Government Engagement, this role will support, help grow and retain partnership relationships with our Leadership Councils and build our partnership opportunities with local governments around Australia. The successful candidate will play an important role within the Alliance team, ensuring that our new and existing Leadership Councils are supported, and our engagement and communication reflects the values, work, and vision of the organisation.
The role will:
- Engage and communicate with existing Leadership Councils that support the organisation;
- Seek out new partnerships with local councils around Australia to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the organisation and our Leadership Council Program;
- Support the delivery of regular engagement and communication with our Leadership Councils to update them on our campaigns, events, and advocacy work;
- Support the Alliance team with seeking out new partnerships and funding opportunities.
