We are looking for a leader with disability to join The Achieve Foundation as a Project Manager to drive the implementation of an employment of young people with disability in the human services sector. This is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real, lasting difference.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY 

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful implementation of the Disability Employment Catalyst – a project to create a pipeline of secure, open employment in human services for young people with disability, with a particular focus. This transformative model aims to bridge the gap between demand and supply, partnering with three large disability service providers and emphasising lived experience leadership. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Project Leadership and Management 

  • Lead the implementation of the Disability Employment Catalyst, ensuring alignment with project goals, deliverables, and timelines. 
  • Manage a Steering Committee, comprising community stakeholders and experts. 
  • Oversee the establishment of the Disability Employment Catalyst as a new organisation. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership 

  • Foster strong partnerships with disability service providers as host employers 
  • Establish partnerships with key stakeholders, including Disability Employment Services, Workforce Australia, disability peak bodies, government departments, school leaver employment initiatives, and relevant education institutions. 

Training and capacity building 

  • Work with partners to recruit candidates for training and work placement 
  • Build an understanding of the blockages to training and recommend or test alternative approaches 

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting 

  • Facilitate the building of evidence (existing and new) on barriers to employment for people with disabilities. 
  • Monitor project progress, collect data, and prepare regular reports on key performance indicators and outcomes according to evaluation framework. 
  • Provide evidence of what works to relevant stakeholders 

ABOUT YOU 

  • A leader with lived experience of disability 
  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully leading complex initiatives from initiation to completion. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the disability employment landscape 
  • Understanding of accessibility and accommodation requirements in training and employment settings. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and partnership-building skills. 
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals. 
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluating project outcomes.
