Who We Are
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is an innovative social impact organisation operating across Australia.
We use our broad outlook, transformational thinking, and trusted voice to lead the charge against inequality in Australia. We were created over 20 years ago to find innovative solutions to entrenched social problems and speed up the rate of positive change.
We think differently, help redesign systems by learning about what works in communities, and work hand-in-hand with passionate partners to take real action and achieve positive social change.
Our Consulting Team
Our Consulting team works exclusively on for-purpose projects that strengthen the social sector and have a positive impact on people and communities.
Founded 15 years ago by strategy consultants from some of Australia’s leading firms, SVA pioneered social sector consulting in Australia.
In the past 15 years, the team has worked with hundreds of clients, including non-profits, governments, social enterprises, First Nations people and communities, philanthropic organisations and corporates pursuing social change to deliver high impact projects.
Our projects generally fall into one of five service offerings:
- Strategy – helping organisations to determine their purpose and strategic goals and how they can best achieve them.
- Outcomes Management – supporting organisations to understand the changes they want to create and how to measure if they are achieving it.
- Collaboration and Partnerships – supporting clients to identify partnership and collaboration opportunities to increase their impact.
- Organisational Effectiveness – helping clients to operate more effectively to ensure they are set up to achieve their goals.
- Program Design – helping clients to develop effective programs that achieve the desired outcomes for participants.

The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an Analyst to join SVA’s Melbourne Consulting team.
Working under the director supervision of a Manager, Principal or Director, Analysts are typically responsible for a stream of work, which may require conducting research, data modelling and analysis, and developing presentations or reports to communicate their findings.
Analysts work across multiple projects, usually two or more at a time, with a typical project lasting between three and six months.
At SVA, the responsibilities and expectations of the Analyst role are broadly equivalent to those of a ‘Consultant’ level at other comparable consulting organisations.
Working in SVA’s Consulting team provides exposure to challenging and rewarding opportunities. You will build close relationships with inspiring clients and communities, sector leaders, colleagues and stakeholders, which provides a great foundation for professional growth and development. You will collaborate with a growing and highly committed team with wide-ranging experience across the social sector.
