Business Development Specialist – Given The Chance
At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Business Development Specialist to join our dedicated Youth and Adult Transitions Team
Location: Frankston and Broadmeadows
Job Type: Permanent full-Time working 38 hours per week
Salary: $85,264.31 – $89,124.91 annum, based on skills and experience plus 11.5% superannuation and $13,000 vehicle allowance

About the role
The Business Development Specialist oversees the business development of the Given the Chance (GtC) program. This role emphasises the development of partnerships with businesses and employers to increase employment opportunities for participants. This role is responsible for external representation, employer engagement, and being the primary point of contact for our third party payroll provider.
• Lead GtC’s employer engagement by evaluating existing programs and brokering new partnerships with employers.
• Work with stakeholders and Development Coaches to develop training courses and targeted recruitment strategies, providing tailored advice to employers and hosts as needed.
• Collaborate with the Development Coaches and partners to identify candidate preparation, skills, and screening needs.
• Establish and sustain an ongoing pipeline of employment opportunities for participants, and ensure consistent achievement of placement and revenue targets.
• Support Development Coaches with recruitment activities.

• Substantial experience in employment brokerage for job seekers experiencing disadvantage and brokerage of revenue raising employment intermediary services.
• Proven relationship building and networking skills with a strong capacity to influence a very wide range of stakeholders across multiple sectors, from corporate through to not for-profit, employment & education, and community.
• Proven record of achieving financial and program targets.
• Demonstrated understanding of diverse groups including asylum seekers, refugees, people with a disability, mature aged jobseekers, young people and parents with young children seeking work.
