About the role

Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator

At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator to join our dedicated team Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.

Location: Fitzroy, VIC

Job Type: Permanent Full-Time working 38 hours per week

Salary: $76,195.24 to $81,702.37 per annum, based on skills and experience plus 11.5% superannuation.

About the role

Provide business support to BSL on Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies, procedures, programs, systems and practices.

  • Provide an exceptional level of internal customer service
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Contribute to and initiate continuous improvement activities relating to people experience policies, practice and procedures 
  • Maximise use of existing systems to maintain records, manage documentation and coordinate workflow to achieve transparency, accuracy and compliance
  • Provide high level administrative support to assist in implementation of team projects
  • Take ownership and use own initiative in implementation of team projects
  • Facilitate training and maintenance of accurate training records for health and safety activities e.g. first aid, emergency warden, health and safety representatives

What we are looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for supporting the mission of BSL and delivering excellence in your role.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Highly developed administrative skills, including computer literacy and excellent attention to detail/accuracy
  • Highly desirable: Prior experience in health, safety and wellbeing
  • Excellent communication skills and be highly service orientated
  • Willingness to take ownership of some team projects, from implementation to delivery
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency in database management and Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
