About the team
The Philanthropy team at Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA) is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships with donors and supporters to advance innovative research in eye health. This dynamic and collaborative team plays a vital role in securing philanthropic funding through campaigns, donor stewardship, and impactful storytelling. With a focus on excellence and collaboration, the Philanthropy team ensures that every supporter feels connected to CERA’s mission of improving lives through our research.
The role
The role is responsible for managing the CERA Giving Circle, supporting trust and foundation applications, and overseeing a portfolio of mid-level and major gift donors and prospects. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, you will contribute to CERA’s long-term sustainability by implementing best practice donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. You will also assist with CERA’s Comprehensive Campaign and foster meaningful relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners.
As part of a collaborative team, you will work alongside senior leadership, researchers, and external stakeholders to grow the philanthropy program and support life-changing research.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience in donor management to enhance donor engagement and giving levels
- Skilled in using data-driven strategies to identify fundraising opportunities and inform income growth initiatives
- Successful track record in managing fundraising campaigns and initiatives
- Strong research, analytical, and project management abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective engagement with both internal teams and external stakeholders to cultivate positive and enduring relationships.
- Proficient in using fundraising databases and CRM systems
- A solutions-oriented approach with a commitment to working collaboratively with others and fostering a supportive team environment.
