Senior Local Area Coordinator – Broadmeadows
We’re seeking an enthusiastic Senior Local Area Coordinator to join our dedicated NDIS Services Team. This role involves managing and delivering Partner in the Community Local Area Coordination services within the Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL) Disability Services Team.
- Location: Hume Merri-bek Area based at the BSL NDIS Hume Merri-bek Office (Broadmeadows, VIC 3047).
- Salary: A competitive remuneration package ranging from $109,846.69 – $114,695.78 per annum + 11.5% superannuation and $13,000 vehicle allowance.
- Type of Employment: Permanent position, Full-time (working 38-40 hours per week).

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Senior Local Area Coordinator, your role is a pivotal function in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). You are responsible for the delivery and implementation of Partner in the Community Local Area Coordination Services in a defined geographical area.
As a Senior Local Area Coordinator, you will assist people with disability to advocate, plan, organise and access the support and services needed to live an ordinary life. This includes assessing each person’s eligibility for the NDIS and (where eligible) helping to establish an NDIS plan with reasonable and necessary supports. Your role will engage with the local community to assist people with disability to access mainstream services regardless of NDIS eligibility.
Senior Local Area Coordinators support staff to embrace the LAC approach and principles, and encourage ways of working with people beyond operational obligations as a Partner in the Community. You will be responsible for overseeing a team of Local Area Coordinators (LACs), and providing expert advice to LACs via regular individual supervision, coaching, peer support, and reflective practice.
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking applicants who have:
- Relevant qualifications in fields such as Disability, Allied Health, Human Services, Social Sciences and/or;
- Lived experience with disability or awareness of the impact of existing or acquired disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community
- Demonstrated ability to manage, lead and develop a team in a changing environment (minimum of 2 years)
- Highly developed communication, listening and relationship-building skills
- Experience in working alongside the community towards common goals
- Confidence in using a variety of computer programs and equipment and the ability to enter information accurately
