About the role:
The Youth Worker role is a permanent part-time position based at our Wyong property on the NSW Central Coast. This Youth Worker role will see you working with and supporting up to four young people 16-18 year old to grow, build and develop independent living skills whilst having their own independent on-site space.
This role will operate on a rotating roster of 44 hours per fortnight which will consist of weekday morning shifts, daily afternoon/sleepover shifts and weekend mid-afternoon shifts. There will also be opportunity to pick up additional shifts if they are available or required. You will be placed on a fortnightly roster which repeats each fortnight.
If you have demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow through understanding and support, we would love to hear from you! Prior experience in supporting individuals with disabilities and complex needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence and wellbeing is highly desirable and will see you thrive in this position.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work (or be willing to enrol and complete a Diploma of Community Services or Youth Work, or relevant qualifications of Diploma Level or above).
- Prior experience working in a Youth Worker position is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated ability to work therapeutically with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and those who have experienced significant trauma and adversity.
- Good understanding of trauma informed care, and the importance of consistency and stability in the lives of young people.
- Experience in utilising a broad range of behaviour support strategies.
- Documentation and reporting writing with a deep commitment to the safeguarding of vulnerable children and young people.
- Ability to build rapport quickly, have resilience and good professional boundaries.
- A valid NSW Driver’s licence and your own insured vehicle.
- A Working With Children Check and Criminal History Check.
- A Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain before commencement.
