Lort Smith’s recently extended animal hospital in North Melbourne and new clinic and adoption centre in Campbellfield provide essential animal care services to the pets of Melbourne’s communities, regardless of people’s circumstances. The organisation focuses on the deep connection people have with their pets and the positive impact it creates. Its outreach programs include their long-established Pet Therapy Program, supporting people experiencing adversity, loneliness or overcoming life-challenges in hospitals, aged care and youth justice facilities.

Reporting to the Board, you will provide strong and capable leadership to build a committed and effective team and establish supportive relationships within the community. You will drive continuous improvement and growth in operations, develop philanthropic income, and help to ensure the future success of the organisation.
This appointment is vital to implementing Lort Smith’s continuing strategies. You must therefore be a proactive and effective leader who can build trust, provide excellence in animal welfare, develop philanthropy, and deliver positive business outcomes.
