About the organisation
Our Team
In the face of rising levels of unmet legal need, Justice Connect designs and delivers high impact interventions to increase access to legal support and progress social justice.
Justice Connect’s Operations team provide support, advice and expertise to over 80 staff across the organisation. The team is responsible for managing the physical work environment, developing and maintaining information technology tools, supporting people and culture, management of and accountability for funds and financial management including payroll. In addition to this, the Operations team oversees the governance and compliance obligations of Justice Connect and manages the business of the volunteer Board.
Our ideal candidate
You'll bring to the team experience in the following areas:
- Significant experience in a reception or office management role
- Experience interacting with clients who are experiencing disadvantage
- Demonstrated skills in office administration in a client services environment and knowledge of office processes including OH&S and IT
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable professional and confidential interaction with a range of people including our client and stakeholders
- Experience working in a not-for-profit context (highly desirable)
Candidates will need to demonstrate commitment to Justice Connect's vision, strategy and values.
About the role
In this role, you’ll work to
- Be the first point of contact in person, on the phone and via email for all visitors including help seekers and ensure a professional, respectful and welcoming environment
- Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the effective running of the Melbourne office including management of incoming and outgoing mail
- Facilitate the timely procurement of office supplies and ensure the smooth and sustainable functioning of office facilities & equipment
- Provide Melbourne office based facilities induction including physical environment, OHS and IT
- Cooperatively ensure the job share arrangement works effectively and efficiently
A week in this role
If you were here last week, you would have:
- You may have participated in a relaxed Morning Operations Team Coffee catchup on teams where you have caught up with other team members.
- You will have received phone calls from help seekers and assisted in directing their call.
- You may have helped induct a new Melbourne based staff member by meeting them and walking them around the office, providing essential information about facilities etc.
- You would have both prepared and received a handover document assisting with the job share arrangement with the other Melbourne based Office Manager.
- You may have participated in a monthly Operations Team meeting where you have received updates on the different parts of the Operations team, as well as participated in a small activity.

Important role information
The position reports to Business Operations Manager.
Employment is part time 15 hours per week permanent.
The salary for this role is $82,345.28 per annum (pro rata) (plus 11.5% superannuation) with annual leave loading and generous salary packaging options.
This role is based at our Melbourne office with 40% of the month in the workplace with hybrid working arrangements.
