The Philanthropic Executive is responsible for growing major gifts fundraising revenue through exceptional and proactive relationship management of Oxfam Australia’s major donors and major donor prospects. This role will lead major gifts fundraising products, including campaign strategies and proposals, along with the involvement of key internal stakeholders such as program staff, Executive Team and Board Members.
This pivotal role is part of the Philanthropic Partnerships team and will collaborate across the Fundraising and Resource Growth Unit. The role requires personalised cultivation and solicitation strategies to engage prospects with the capacity to make $100,000+ gifts and retain and upgrade existing high-level major donors. You will manage and engage this portfolio of 40-50 key relationships across VIC, TAS, WA and SA to deepen engagement and secure income targets. You will also implement and monitor long-term strategies to secure transformational gifts from prospects, including individuals and trusts & foundations.
About YOU
- 5+ years’ experience in major gift fundraising, with success building strong relationships & achieving growth,
- Knowledge of a range of relationship development techniques, as well as strong influencing & active listening skills,
- Superb oral and written communication, presentation and promotion skills to a wide range of audiences,
- Proven track record securing 7-figure gifts, ambitious financial targets and the proactive solicitation of key supporter prospects at the $100,000+ level,
- Experience designing & implementing successful project-focused campaigns (including capital) to increase project-specific restricted funding & acquiring new donors,
- Solid computer, MS Office and CRMs literacy is desirable,
- Demonstrated experience managing a small team of relationship fundraisers or similar management experience,
- You possess a high degree of emotional intelligence, humility, a growth mindset, can-do attitude, flexibility, sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues & a willingness to learn about diversity,
