About FVREE

We are the specialist family violence service in Melbourne’s Inner and Outer East. We work alongside victim survivors in responding to family violence.

We provide access and initial response services in partnership with other agencies through The Orange Doors in Croydon and Box Hill, and case management services through our Support and Recovery team in Ringwood. Being part of the solution is important to us. We work to change attitudes to gender equality to prevent violence from happening in the first place and equip the community to respond to disclosures of abuse. We do through our prevention and education work nationally.

We apply an intersectional lens to all of our work. Our approach is trauma informed, strengths based, and person centered. Check out our website for more about us, in particular our most recent Annual Report and our Theory of Change which sets out our plan over the next 7-10 years to work towards a community free from family violence where everyone is safe.

About the role

  • Screening, Identification and Triage (SIT) leadership role based within The Orange Door Croydon.
  • Shape and develop a multi-disciplinary team from all three specialisms (Specialist Family Violence, Perpetrator and Child Wellbeing)
  • Dual lead this team with a partner-agency Team Leader
  • Intake and assessment work responding to those in crisis for immediate impact and support
  • Fixed term, Full-Time (1.0FTE) Parental Leave opportunity: 5 May 2025 until 5 June 2025
  • Experience within The Orange Door is preferred

About the Opportunity

The role of The Orange Door is to provide a visible contact point so that people know where to go for specialist support. There are 17 Orange Doors across Victoria. Find out more about The Orange Doors here.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary team of around 6 people from FVREE and partner agencies to engage primarily with women and children to provide screening, assessment, triage and short-term responses to all incoming referrals for victim-survivors through the Integrated Practice Framework. Providing supervision, guidance and oversight, you will collaborate closely with your peers in leadership roles from FVREE and partner agencies to enable seamless integration.

About you

You will be excited by the opportunity to lead and have impact through developing the skills and capability of your team. You have an instinct for collaboration and communicate to bring people together.

You will be deeply aligned with our values and understand that gender inequality is one of the main drivers of family violence. Advocating and upholding the rights of women and children to be safe and free motivates you to come to work each day. You will have the capability for reflection and self-insight to develop your practice and know the importance of self-care to maintain resilience when working with trauma. You know actions speak louder than words, and role modelling a positive culture is foundational.

We celebrate diversity in all its forms, and welcome interest in our work from people with a range of experiences.
