The Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) supports and empowers migrant and refugee communities through programs and services that promote inclusion, access, and independence. THE POSITION
An opportunity is available for an experienced and organised professional to join CMRC as Deputy CEO. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Finance Team, this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant functioning of the organisation’s day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities include overseeing office and resource management, contributing to budgeting and reporting, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, supporting program delivery, and coordinating stakeholder relationships.
The Deputy CEO also plays a central role in identifying process improvements, supporting grant development and fundraising, and enhancing organisational effectiveness across functions such as HR, IT, and administration.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work/social sciences, management, public policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in senior leadership roles, preferably in the not-for-profit, multicultural, or community development sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex teams and oversee diverse portfolios.
- Proven success in managing large grants, strategic planning, program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and staff supervision.
- High-level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Sound understanding of issues affecting migrant and refugee communities in Australia. Knowledge of the settlement sector and CALD community challenges.
- Experience working with boards and high-level government or philanthropic stakeholders.
A commitment to social justice and experience working in diverse environments are essential.
