New Lake Peer Support Limited is a not for profit organisation, established in 1989, and provides support to people with disability and their families and carers living in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and Lower Hunter areas. We support people to live life the way they choose.

We are committed to working with the people we support, their families, carers and other significant people in their lives to develop effective, highly personalised supports to suit individual needs.

At New Lake Peer Support Ltd., we use a person centred approach so everyone gets the support that is right for him or her.

We offer a broad range of support options, including, but not limited to, support co-ordination, respite support, day programs, independent living skills training, personal care, supported living and social and recreational programs tailored to the individual needs of each person.

New Lake Peer Support Limited is managed by a voluntary Management Board, which overseas the strategic operations of the organisation. The Board is elected from the members of the organisation each year at the Annual General meeting.

About the role

The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of service delivery and organisational management, including compliance, quality, workforce leadership, and financial sustainability. You will play a key role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives while ensuring the organisation continues to meet and exceed NDIS Quality and Practice Standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership aligned with organisational values and mission
  • Overseeing the delivery and continuous improvement of disability services
  • Leading and mentoring multidisciplinary teams to achieve participant goals
  • Ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory frameworks
  • Managing risk, budgets, and resources effectively
  • Fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders and the community

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  1. A minimum of 5 years in a senior management role within disability, community, or health services
  2. Tertiary qualifications in Disability, Health, Community Services, or a related field
  3. Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic and business plans
  4. Strong understanding of financial management, corporate governance, and risk frameworks
  5. Demonstrated leadership with a focus on mentoring, accountability, and driving positive outcomes
  6. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  7. Proven experience in computer literacy across several platforms.
  8. Commitment to the NDIS Code of Conduct and participant-focused service delivery
  9. Current unrestricted driver’s licence
  10. Conditions of Employment
    • 6-month probation period
    • Must be eligible to work in Australia
    • Cleared Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
