About the role
Policy Officer
- Canberra/Hybrid working arrangements
- Full-time or Part-time (min 30 hours per week)
- Classification: SCHADS (level and remuneration dependent on experience)

We are looking for a Policy Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the national peak body for volunteering’s policy development and advocacy work across a range of policy areas.

As a key member of Volunteering Australia’s Policy Team, you’ll lead and deliver impactful policy and advocacy projects. This role involves high-quality research, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and representing the organisation at a national level.
What you will bring:
- Demonstrated capability in policy development and advocacy work.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to work across diverse and complex policy areas and learn new subject matter quickly.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to undertake research including data analysis.
In addition to this, you will have:
- High level organisational and project management skills.
- High level IT and computer skills, including MS Office and Database applications.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
