Family Coach – Early Years
At Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL), we are seeking a passionate Family Coach to join our dedicated Early Years, Children and Families team.
Location: Sunshine (Brimbank Local Government Area)
Job Type: Maximum Term Part-Time – 12 Month Contract
Salary: $90,962.92 – $97,875.15 per annum, based on skills and experience, plus 12% superannuation (pro-rata for part-time employment)

About the role:
Join us in shaping the future of early childhood development.
As a Family Coach, you will partner with families in Sunshine and surrounding areas to support their aspirations, strengthen their capacity, and connect them with resources and services. Using a strength-based, person-centred approach, you will help families navigate the early years ecosystem, build confidence, and foster relationships that promote child development and family wellbeing
Key responsibilities include:

Providing one-on-one coaching to parents to help them set and achieve goals

Linking families with community resources and services

Supporting families to engage confidently with early childhood education, health and social services

Facilitating small groups and playgroups to encourage social connections and shared learning

Building strong relationships with local community groups and service providers

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Work, Early Childhood Development or a related field

Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds, including refugee and migrant communities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with families, communities, and service providers

Experience facilitating group programs, workshops, or play-based learning activities
-
Commitment to child safety, equity, inclusion, and cultural safety
