About the role

The Greens’ Chifley Campaign is looking for an enthusiastic Community Engagement Coordinator. 
The Community Engagement Coordinator will develop and implement a range of strategies to build on the capacity of the campaign to establish and maintain effective relationships with the community. Working closely with the core campaign team you will research, analyse and initiate plans to engage with potential voters. 

Please note: For this role, personality and enthusiasm is more important than experience. If you think you have the ‘right attitude’ and would like to gain some great experience working by with us, we would like to hear from you. This role will be well supported by Campaign Coordinator and the campaign team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement political engagement plans
  • Develop and implement community engagement events and other face-to-face contact, working closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and Events/Fundraising Coordinator
  • Ad-hoc campaign duties

About you:

  • Proven commitment to The Greens’ principles
  • Excellent organisational, time management and prioritising skills
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team environment
  • Ability to communicate affectively and professionally with a range of people, both verbally and in writing

Relationships to others:
The position reports to the Chifley Campaign Coordinator and will work closely with the Chifley pre-selected Candidate and the core campaign team

Time commitment:
Currently fortnightly meetings in the Blacktown area, to increase closer to the election and may fluctuate throughout the campaign. 
Majority of responsibilities to be completed outside of the fortnightly meeting
Attendance and assistance at events and election day also required
As this is a volunteer role we cannot mandate time commitments but the role may involve up to 5 hours a week to fulfil all duties. This may start less but will very likely increase as we move closer to the election and when an event/fundraiser it held. A flexibility around time commitment would be appreciated and we would also offer a degree of flexibility in return
