About the role

Vinnies Street Appeal 2016
Friday 9 September 2016
7am – 6pm

On Friday 9 September volunteers will be collecting donations for the 2016 annual Vinnies Street Appeal at various locations across Western Australia. Join in the fun and excitement by volunteering your time in the CBD or organising an in-house fundraiser. The opportunity to get involved, create awareness and raise much needed funds is supported by corporate & community organisations, sporting groups and schools all looking to make a difference and help rebuild lives in WA.

All funds raised for this Appeal allows Vinnies volunteers to provide immediate support to individuals and families currently experiencing hardship through our emergency relief program. This program aims to assist people with their immediate crisis situation with dignity, compassion and respect, through the provision of food, clothing, furniture and bedding, help with utility bills and rents, friendship, advocacy and referrals.

In 2015, Vinnies in WA visited 29,725 homes and provided assistance to 37,481 people. 43.7% of help provided was new assistance and 56.3% was repeat assistance, with the highest request for support being food 85.9% followed by utility bill assistance 11.3%.
