About the role
Engineers Without Borders Australia is a young, energetic organisation that is all about creating positive change through humanitarian engineering.
The overarching vision for EWB’s International Program is for everyone to have access to the services they need to lead a life of opportunity, free from poverty.
With programs based in Cambodia, Timor-Leste and Vanuatu, EWB fosters long-term relationships with community organisations and supports long term Field Professional placements focused on building individual, organisational and sector-wide capacity through mentorship, human-centred design, education and training
Plan is an international development organisation operating in 50 countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas to promote and protect the rights of children and lift millions of children out of poverty. Plan Timor-Leste has worked in Timor-Leste since 2001 in three Districts: Dili, Aileu and Lautem. Support Plan Timor-Leste and its local partners to provide sustainable clean water and sanitation solutions to poor rural communities.
This position works to strengthen the capacity of Plan staff, local partner organisations in Aileu district and community members in community water supply and sanitation planning, design and management.
These professional placements are voluntary, however an allowance is provided to support a modest but comfortable standard of living covering general day-to-day expenses and accommodation. Other costs such as Pre-Departure Training, airfares, insurance, language lessons and visas are also covered.
