Community Development Intern

Opportunity is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the great work our volunteer team carries out. ROLE DESCRIPTION
Opportunity International Australia currently provides financial services to 4.2 million living in poverty. A new department has been established to develop and expand non-financial services such as health, education, clean water and sanitation that complement the microfinance program and enhance the overall impact we are having in the lives of the people we serve.
Working with the Community Development Services Director, the main responsibilities of this internship will be to collect information on the community development services that are being implemented by Opportunity’s key partners based in developing countries, map out services and technical assistance being provided ‘in-country’ that could be incorporated into the programs offered by our partners and the development of a program to support project managers based both in Australia and overseas.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your knowledge of the program aspects of international development and will ideally suit an applicant with excellent research and information management skills who has knowledge and several years’ experience in project management, ideally in the development or related sector.
