About The Glen

The Glen Centre is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Drug and Alcohol Residential Rehabilitation Centre for men and women across two sites at Chittaway Point & Wyong Creek on the Central Coast of NSW. The Glen has worked with over 3,500 clients over the past 27 years. The National accreditation body QIP recently recognised The Glen as one of the most successful and well-run Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation programs in Australia, having set a national record for quality standards.

The Glen’s program is designed to treat a client in a holistic manner by addressing all of their issues. This means that we treat the person as a whole (spiritually, mentally and physically). We don’t just treat their addiction, we also look at things in their life that may be causing the addictive behaviours. Our program is about empowering people to take control of their lives, to live a good, fun life and to become active members of their families and the community as a whole.

Why become a Friend of The Glen?

As a Friend of The Glen, there is no monetary remuneration, but you will be part of organisation that helps hundreds of people turn their lives around each year. Becoming a Friend of The Glen is an opportunity to share your knowledge, skills and experience to fulfil The Glen’s objectives of helping more people, better.

Expectations as a “Friend of The Glen”

We are seeking humble volunteers who genuinely want to give their time for The Glen’s cause and are joining for the right reasons. Friends of The Glen are expected to be active members of the committees that they join. This means reading all the material sent prior to the meetings, attending meetings quarterly and actively contributing.
