About the role

We are seeking people with a range of experience who can make strategic level decisions in consideration of a range of factors both micro and macro. Shikodo is particularly interested in persons with skills in policy development, legal, strategic planning, fundraising, marketing and promotion.

Shikodo is an organization known for its ability to work ‘left field’ with persons in need and on the margins. Our Board of Directors needs to feel alive with blue-sky thinking, working sometimes ‘out of the box’ to achieve what others would see as the impossible.

The Board of Directors are responsible for the governance of Shikodo Ltd, ensuring that our organization meets all legal requirements and remains accountable to its donors, funders, stakeholders and the community.

Board members are asked to volunteer for approximately four to six hours per month. Tasks include reading monthly reports, attending and contributing to bi-monthly board meetings (held after hours on Zoom), assisting on a subcommittee or in another area depending on your area of expertise.

The focus of our work is helping people develop a growth mindset capitalizing on strengths and resilience.
