About Us

We distribute new and pre-loved essential baby items to WA families in need. We provide a box of “little things” to assist families to care for their newborn with items such as clothing, blankets, nappies, wipes, toys and books. We collect and package donations together with a team of volunteers and distribute our New Baby Boxes via existing support services and government agencies. We are proud to help to create a sustainable future for our children by recycling used items.

Charity Licence approved by Department of Commerce WA.

About the Role

We are seeking a new Perth based member to fill the voluntary role of General Committee Member.  The General Committee Member will have a hands on role in assisting with the direction of activity of the charity, ensuring outcomes are met and operations run smoothly. The General Committee Member will assist with the strategic direction and growth of LTFTT and will support the vision, values and objectives of the charity. Committee members are responsible for the governance of the charity, and work closely together to ensure all systems and processes support the overall direction, effectiveness and accountability of LTFTT.

Responsibilities

The role requires approximately 1-3 hours a week in the form of:

• Responding regularly to emails;

• Attending bi-monthly virtual committee meetings (evenings);

• Actioning any tasks identified in meetings;·

• Attending AGM and in-person annual strategy and planning session;

• Attending 1-2 volunteer sessions each year to develop an understanding of the charity’s operations to aid with strategic planning and decision making;

• If required, leading or working on a specific project/subcommittee;

• Working with the other committee members to ensuring effective governance • adheres to all legislation and compliance requirements; and

• Being involved in the strategic planning and growth of the charity.

About You

• Personal commitment to the mission of Little Things. 
• Ability to devote time and effort to help Little Things for Tiny Tots achieve its strategic objectives, including attendance at monthly committee meetings as well as some volunteering sessions. 
• Willingness to take a leadership role. 
• Trustworthy, methodical and consistent.
• Able to work collaboratively and individually
• Excellent organisation and communication skills
• Strong computer literacy and capacity and willingness to learn new systems/software
• Experience in any one of the following areas is desirable although not essential: 
• • Not-for-profit sector

  • Human Resources
  • Marketing 
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Volunteer engagement
  • Fundraising
  • Corporate sponsorship
  • Strategic planning
  • Logistics and/or operations
• Based in metropolitan Perth.

Time Commitment

Please note that we are looking for people who are willing to commit long-term, and who have adequate time (4-12 hrs per month) to dedicate to this role.
