About the role
As part of our commitment to strong action on climate change, Willoughby City Council has partnered with not-for-profit Climate for Change to train facilitators to lead Climate Conversations within our community.
Climate Conversations are facilitated informal conversations that aim to bring about meaningful action on climate change through the power of ordinary Australians. You don’t need any experience – just passion, commitment and drive. If you are looking for something meaningful and effective (and fun!) to do to tackle climate change, read on. Following a successful first Cohort in April, registrations for our second Cohort are now open, until 8 July.
Vanessa, who just trained as a facilitator in the first cohort in April, says of the program: ‘I am so excited that Willoughby City Council has launched the Climate Conversations program for local residents and that I am one of the first volunteers trained as a facilitator. I learnt so much from the training they provided. I now feel inspired, empowered and that I have enough tools to run conversations within my community so we can act together on climate change.’
