BE A PART OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE ❤️
CHFF continues the vision of legendary Australian, Dr Catherine Hamlin to eradicate obstetric fistula in Ethiopia, forever.
Obstetric fistula is a debilitating childbirth injury caused by an obstructed and prolonged labour. It leaves most women incontinent and in 93% of cases with a stillborn baby.
There are an estimated 31,000 women living with this condition in Ethiopia, due to lack of access to medical care and emergency cesarean delivery if they encounter complications during childbirth.
Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia has six hospitals across Ethiopia where women can access free surgical treatment as well as counselling, rehabilitation and vocational training, ensuring women leave healed and empowered, ready to rebuild their lives..
The funds raised on Giving Day will ensure Ethiopian women continue to have access to this life changing treatment. Because without this equipment there is no safe surgery.
