About the role

Do you want people living with disability to get a fair go at what life has to offer?

We have opportunities for you to join one of our three boards, working alongside a passionate and established change-maker CEO and an outstanding team of non-executive directors in Adelaide, South Australia.

The Julia Farr group comprises three entities:

JFA Purple Orange works across policy, research, advocacy and capacity-building on issues impacting the disability community

inhousing is a social landlord providing accessible and affordable homes

Julia Farr MS McLeod Benevolent Fund makes grants to advance the life chances of people living with disability.

We are seeking board members with a genuine commitment to inclusion and disability leadership, who bring professional experience in finance, law, or social policy (particularly advocacy and campaigns), or executive leadership. We are seeking general board members for all boards, and a finance specialist to serve as treasurer for inhousing.

Diverse candidates with intersectional identities are encouraged to apply, including people living with disability, First Nations people, culturally and linguistically diverse people, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and people who come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Boards meet either monthly or every two months, online during business hours. Boards are supported by the work of their sub-committees, and a professional staff team.

The Julia Farr group comprises three entities, all working to increase the life chances of people living with disability, through genuine inclusion in mainstream community life. 

JFA Purple Orange works across policy, research, advocacy and capacity-building. Purple Orange works through a range of grant funded and fee for service programs to address disability inclusion at a system-level. Our work is founded in the principles of codesign. 

inhousing is a social landlord providing accessible and affordable homes, with a focus on people living with disability living in a home of their choice, with people of their choice. We also provide assistive technology services through Stretchy Tech, supporting people living with disability to maximise their autonomy in their home. 

Julia Farr MS McLeod Benevolent Fund makes grants to advance the inclusion of people living with disability in mainstream community life.
