About the role

The role of this volunteer will be to act as the President of the Board of Directors, either in the abscence of the President or as requested by the President, and to carry out additional leadership duties relating to the Board of Director’s duties. The positon is for a startup non-profit organisation that is in the process of being formed. We will support young boys who have been sexually abused and provide a safe atmosphere with out-of-home care. Although this group will focus on boys, it will nonetheless provide support and aid to anyone who has been sexually abused.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform the Board President’s responsibilities when the Board President is unavailable
  • Work in conjuction with the Board President and serves as a first point of contact to ensure all committees of the Board are organised, functional, and productive based on their respective roles
  • Serve on the Executive Committee alongside the President, Treasurer and Secretary and other members as elected by the board
  • Serve on the Governance Committee
  • Serve as an ex officio member on all Board Committees
  • Represent the Organisation at events and meetings
  • Perform otheer responsibilities as requested by the President as well as the Board of Directors

Qualifications

  • Ability to oversee the implementation of a strategic vision by ensuring appropriate plans are implemented, in order to deliver efficient, effective and high quality services
  • An in-depth understanding of the professional, institutional, policy and community context in which a non-profit company operates, in order to recommend and oversee change
  • Experience fulfilling the Director’s fiduciary duty of loyalty and care (not required but highly recommended)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to influence positively and productively the communication and relationships with the Board and Management, and to run productive meetings if or when required.
  • An understanding of sound financial and operational business processes and practices

Pro Youth Foundation Australia; is a new nonprofit organization; located in Australia. We plan to support young boys who have been sexually abused and provide a safe atmosphere with out-of-home care. Although this group will focus on boys, it will nonetheless provide support and aid to anyone who has been sexually abused. We want to give back to the community that we serve and, more importantly, to the youths of Australia. We will make their life worth living among others by restoring their value, dignity, power, strength, passion, and talents so they can be useful for their community. We want to provide the best for every affected individual and make them feel part of the community

  • Improve surveillance systems and data collection for monitoring boys’ sexual abuse.
  • Increase our understanding of risk and protective factors for sexual abuse perpetration and victimization.
  • Increase dissemination and implementation of evidence-based strategies for boys sexual abuse prevention.
  • To generate resources through donations, fundraising initiatives and community partnerships and use those funds to make an impact in the lives of the youths.
  • To attract volunteers and partners who are passionate about helping the youth achieve their hopes, dreams, and full potential.
  • To provide safe environment with out-of-home care, and it will be sustained by committed and compassionate volunteers.
  • To restore the physical dignity of the victims by providing safe environment with out-of-home care, resources, guidance, and nurturing relationships.
  • Promote and enhance our programs in every ramification through premium quality and well-structured service measures.
