About the role

About the Opportunity

Elevate your volunteer experience by becoming a respite house volunteer at Alzheimer’s WA. Your impact goes beyond the moments you create as you leave our members full of joy and provide meaningful connection. It’s not just cooking prep and assisting the on-site team with keeping the house neat and tidy, but it’s crafting unforgettable experiences through companionship and helping us provide engaging activities like crochet, art, golf, and more.

We have several opportunities in each our warm and friendly locations, with room for two passionate and purpose-driven volunteers per site (Mandurah, Perth, and Albany). It’s not just about helping the team; it’s about weaving a tapestry of warmth and laughter in the lives of those we serve. Join us on this fulfilling journey where your presence transforms into cherished memories.

Without a medical breakthrough, the number of Australians living with dementia is projected to increase rapidly to almost 150,000 in the next four decades. Established in 1982, Alzheimer’s WA advocates, educates, supports and engages the 48,000 Western Australians living with dementia, as well their families and carers.
