About the role
The primary objective of our charity is to ensure universal access to therapy and therapeutic equipment for children, particularly in Australia. We aim to advocate for inclusion in the community by promoting disability-friendly infrastructure, such as playgrounds and sporting equipment. The Charity name is not finalized yet due to awaiting progression of all other steps, but we have one in mind that I will share if required.The charity will start small scale, helping local children, but the long term vision is to eventually be able to build therapy clinics in lower income communities, train staff to provide therapy etc.
We are needing at least 7 board members, treasurer, secretary, and more to help create and run the Charity. If you have any experience with this – it would be very much preferred!
Meeting days/times/frequency is flexible and dependent on needs of board members to make this a successful charity.
About the organisation
Smilestones Therapy is a Paediatric Physiotherapy clinic in Wynnum QLD. Currently we Fundraise and raise money for children to attend therapy - however we want to expand this into a proper charity and allow for more donations as well as more children helped each year.
