About the role
We are seeking two dynamic individuals to join our Executive Board who are committed to assisting homeless women escaping domestic and family violence on the Northern Beaches.
As a committed Board member, you will be required to undertake on average a couple of hours of work a week and to meet with other Board members on a monthly basis to discuss the strategy and oversee ongoing governance of the Shelter.
We are specifically looking for individuals with Family Law or Strategic Planning experience – however we are open to receiving applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
Prior experience on a NFP Board is an advantage, but not an essential requirement.
About the organisation
Northern Beaches Women's Shelter (NBWS) is a non-profit, community-funded charitable organisation providing crisis accommodation, support, safety and services for homeless women across Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
NBWS is apart of the Women's Community Shelters (WCS) network, comprising of 11 shelters across Sydney and the Greater Sydney area. Each WCS shelter is its own incorporated entity with a skilled volunteer Board. The Shelter Board is supported by the WCS Hub to operate their shelter in partnership with the local community.
