About Period Proud
A brand new campaign idea aimed at empowering women to advocate for women’s health, and supporting Human and Hope’s Menstrual Hygiene Project in Cambodia.
About you
You share Human and Hope values for social justice, locally-led sustainable development, access to education for girls, and women’s empowerment. You’re engaged with global issues, particularly with women’s rights.
About the role
The Communications Manager will lead a campaign supporting women’s health and poverty reduction in Cambodia. You will drive awareness for our cause, maximising media exposure and engaging key publications. Working with a dedicated volunteer team, you’ll ensure our message reaches and resonates with the right audience. You have experience with these tasks or are interested in developing skills in:
- Develop Media Strategies: Design and execute strategies to secure media coverage and boost campaign visibility.
- Build Media Relationships: Foster strong connections with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets.
- Craft Content: Create press releases, media briefs, and engaging content to promote the campaign.
- Copywriting: Write persuasive copy for newsletters, social media, and marketing materials.
- Manage Media Outreach: Lead media outreach, including pitching stories and coordinating interviews.
- Monitor Media Coverage: Track and analyse media coverage to evaluate impact and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Coordinate Campaign Materials: Work with the team to develop visually impactful campaign materials.
- Support Fundraising: Promote fundraising efforts and events.

About the organisation
Human and Hope aims to create sustainable change by empowering communities through locally led initiatives. Our focus includes:
- Raising awareness of the negative impact of voluntourism, advocating to trust local expertise
- Supporting a grassroots community centre in Cambodia that offers education programs, such as languages, sewing, and farming, to alleviate poverty.
