About the role
Audit Information
As a registered charity, RSAC is required to produce audited financial statements each year for
lodgment with the ACNC.
As an incorporated association, it is not absolutely necessary for the audit to be conducted by a
registered company auditor.
RSAC uses an MYOB accounting system with staff who are competent with that software. Due
to small staff numbers there is limited segregation of duties. There is a regular review of
monthly accounting reports by the governing committee.
RSAC is in a sound financial position with no issues of ongoing financial viability.
The only accounting area where significant judgement is required to be exercised is the timing
of deferred income and prepaid expenditure in relation to events for the disabled clients which
are scheduled to occur post balance date.
It is estimated that the audit should take around 10 hours of professional time, although a new
auditor might take a bit longer as they familiarize themselves with organization.
