About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact, build industry connections, and gain experience in the music and mental health sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving media visibility, crafting compelling narratives, and supporting our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a PR strategy to enhance visibility for The Songwriting Prize’s 10th anniversary.
- Secure media placements in national, regional, and music industry press.
- Draft press releases, media kits, and key messaging documents.
- Manage media relations, including outreach, interviews, and feature coordination.
- Engage past participants, winners, and key industry figures to celebrate TSP’s impact.
- Develop a social media PR activation plan, including influencer engagement.
- Support PR efforts for key events, including semi-finals and the grand final.
- Track media coverage and provide campaign performance reports.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in PR, communications, journalism, or related fields (freelance, agency, or in-house).
- Passion for music, mental health advocacy, and storytelling.
- Strong media relations skills with the ability to pitch and secure coverage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Established media contacts in the music or mental health space (preferred but not essential).
