About the role
Peel ArtsConnect is seeking a dynamic and committed leader to serve as Deputy Chair of the Board, supporting the Chair in advancing the organization’s mission to promote arts and culture across the Peel region. The ideal candidate will bring leadership experience from the arts, nonprofit, community, or business sectors, and share a deep passion for the transformative power of the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Chair to guide the Board in strategic planning and governance.
- Act as a trusted advisor and sounding board to the Chair, stepping in to lead meetings or represent the organization when needed.
- Help foster a respectful, inclusive, and forward-thinking board culture.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including artists, funders, community leaders, and government representatives.
- Support fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement initiatives.
- Promote collaboration and consensus-building across the Board and committees.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven leadership experience in arts, nonprofit, community, or business sectors.
- Strong understanding of governance principles and board operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire trust, build consensus, and support strategic decision-making.
- Passion for arts and culture, with a commitment to regional development and community wellbeing.
