About the role

Peel ArtsConnect is seeking a knowledgeable and values-driven Legal & Governance Advisor to provide expert guidance on legal, regulatory, and governance matters. The ideal candidate will have legal qualifications or significant experience in nonprofit governance, with a strong understanding of legislation affecting arts and community organizations. This role involves advising the board on compliance, risk management, and ethical decision-making, while supporting the development and review of policies, contracts, and governance documents. The Advisor will help ensure transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in board practices, and liaise with external legal counsel when needed. A commitment to ethical leadership, clear communication, and the organization’s values of creativity, community, and cultural inclusion is essential.
