Bcorp Certified

Education Changemakers exists to unleash teacher led innovation. As one of Australia’s founding BCorps, we build the capacity of early career teachers and aspiring education leaders across Australia and the world to lead the changes needed in Education.

Leadership Team

David Faulkner: Co-founder & CEO
Aaron Tait: Co-founder & Director of Innovation
Summer Howarth: Director of Learning
Louka Parry: Director of Programs

Our flagship program, The Changemaker Program is Australia’s premiere education learning experience for passionate educators who are ready to step up in their leadership journey and drive positive change in their schools. Our award winning program is based on four years of fine tuning, as well as research with educators and system leaders across Australia and the globe. Far from a ‘talk and walk’ program, the experience is grounded in deep practical learning.
EC also has short course offerings a successful conference series and incubates education companies to accelerate improved outcomes for all young people in pursuit of an education worth having.

Employee Giving

All Education Changemaker employees are selected on their ability to contribute to the EC culture. Generosity and the desire to make positive change in our world were core values in the development of the company’s culture, and Education Changemakers continues to be committed to supporting the drive of its employees to give. As such, EC provides staff with the opportunity to donate to charities through payroll deductions.

Staff Volunteering

Aaron works 50% of his time as Chief Impact Officer at YGAP supported by Education Changemakers (on a fulltime salary).

Summer Howarth: Education Campaign Manager, YGAP’s 5cent Campaign. Summer is supported in her campaign volunteer work (largely out of hours due to the nature of the volunteer-based team). EC incorporates examples and materials to support the campaign into the curriculum and messaging across the broad EC network of changemakers.

The team are encouraged to develop and support ideas that change the world for young people.

Partnerships

In 2016 Education Changemakers is working in collaboration with PWC to run a STEM Education focused accelerator and incubator program. Up to five ventures will be selected for the three-day Accelerator Program.
We work closely with the teams at NAB and FYA on NAB’s $20 Boss campaign, supporting young entrepreneurs across Australia with receiving the funds and guidance needed to set up their own business. We also have a partnership with NAB to support our conference series; EduChange.

Affiliations

Spark* International through YGAP are our charity partner.

EC are light on resources & supplies, being a service-based business. Where consumable products are required, we focus on supporting local and small business. As a BCorp, we are also committed to supporting and partnering with fellow BCorps across the world.
Our shirts are designed and produced by Street University Clothing, a social enterprise based out of Liverpool Street University, an initiative of the Ted Noffs Foundation.

Environment

At Education Changemakers, we back teachers to lead changes in education to ensure young Australians are getting the best, most empowering and fruitful education possible. We believe firmly that if we can improve the education of young people, societal issues like sustainability and the future of our planet will be in the best hands in ten years time. Through investing in young Australians today, the prospects of tomorrow look hopeful.

Resource Management

The Playground is Australia’s first education-based co-working space. Teachers are welcome to work from our offices for free at any time. We house two education companies within our building, supporting their growth in the early stages of their business.

Recycling

At Education Changemakers, all employees and office users are encouraged to carefully consider waste reduction, and each floor of the building has recycling receptacles. The team actively refrains from printing resources that can be displayed on computers and/or projected, reducing paper waste.
