Our client, No To Violence/Men’s Referral Service (NTV/MRS), is a Not for Profit working with men and their use of family violence. NTV/MRS is a pro-feminist organisation with a gender diverse workforce tackling the root cause of men’s violence against women and this is an exciting time for the organisation as they are going through significant growth and change. With a vision to end family violence by working with men, they are currently in a transition period and want to build an organisation that is fit for the future. This is where you come in! They are looking for a suitably qualified and professional Telephone Referral Worker to join their highly dedicated and committed team. It won’t matter what your gender is, we are looking for someone who is highly dedicated and committed to ensuring the highest level of support is given to clients seeking assistance from the service.
About the role…
As a Telephone Referral Worker, you will provide on behalf of NTV/MRS, customer focused, telephone counselling and referral services to inbound callers within VIC/TAS or NSW, and ultimately Australia wide. This will include some weekend and public holiday work.
The role will also be part of the wider team expected to provide early intervention outbound calls with men identified as using family violence by Victoria Police and any other states as appropriate.
You will also have a 6 month rotational portfolio allocation providing opportunity to integrate and share expert advice and guidance in other areas of the organisation to collectively meet the organisational strategic goals (e.g. Volunteer Management Support, Community Engagement Support etc.).

About you…
You must be able to demonstrate the following…
• Appropriate tertiary training in Social Work, Counselling or knowledge in family violence sector or related field (e.g. Graduate Certificate of Social Science (Male Family Violence and Male Family Violence Telephone counselling)
• Specialist knowledge and skills and prior experience providing male family violence services, including intake and/or assessment
• Proven experience in telephone counselling and referral work in a welfare, community-based or state-wide service including the family violence sector
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including excellent, positive interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Can use computerised information systems and possess skills in data entry
• Demonstrated skills in adhering to and implementing systems, policies and procedures
• An understanding of culturally appropriate service responses for culturally and linguistically diverse communities and indigenous clients, and for diverse client groups including same-sex attracted men and men with disability
• A demonstrable understanding of the social and gendered context of family violence and the impact of violence on women and children
• Consistent work ethic with a high level of accountability and reliability
