Business Analyst/Financial Controller

Multicultural Aged Care Inc. (MAC) is a non- government, not-for-profit, secular community-based organisation that specialises in providing person-centred, consumer directed home care services to frail-aged people and their carers from CALD backgrounds.
Reporting to the CEO, you will play the lead role in enhancing the financial performance, sustainability and compliance of Multicultural Aged Care through improved financial management practices. You will provide financial support to business areas through financial analysis, budgeting, planning and forecasting; to facilitate decision making and future business strategies.
THE POSITION
The position will:
• Provide all aspects of financial support for planning and control.
• Provide advice and technical expertise, preparing detailed financial reports and analysis and contributing to the development of MAC’s financial strategy;
• Prepare of annual budget.
• Gather, model, analyse, prepare, and summarize information for financial plans, operating forecasts and trended future specifications.
• Prepares recommendations based on analyses.
• Perform revenue and expense analysis, headcount and headcount driven expense analysis at cost centre level and tracking of program revenue.
Skills, Experience and Competencies
Essential
• Suitable / relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting (CPA/CA) Membership to professional body
• 8 years’ experience in financial management
• Extensive knowledge of Acts, Regulations and professional practices relating to financial accounting and management
• Extensive experience in management accounting preferably including knowledge of sophisticated corporate financial forecasting techniques
• Appropriate experience in working with financial management systems
• Extensive experience and knowledge of a range of management accounting techniques as applied in a complex, regulated environment.
• Strong Computer skills and proficiency in using Financials softwares.
• Strong analysis and research skills
• Detail oriented and proficient in gathering, organizing, analyzing, and communicating information
• Customer service skills and commitment to a customer focused culture and ensuring quality outcomes for clients
• Understanding of Accreditation Standards and Regulations, as they affect financial management in the aged care service sector.
• Experience in staff, financial and change management
• Experience dealing with confidential organisational information
Desirable
1. Post graduate qualifications in Finance, Management or Accounting
2. Experience in not-for-profit sector and regulatory requirements
3. Demonstrated financial management experience in an aged care or health services business
4. Ability to speak a language other than English
