About the Program

 

SSI is launching a new program called Train, Engage, Connect and Support (TECS) focused on working collaboratively with DSS, State and Territory governments, ethno-specific and mainstream community organisations, mainstream FDSV providers and religious institutions to develop culturally tailored training resources that resonate with diverse communities and faith traditions. The TECS project will complement other local and national campaigns, awareness raising and educational activities. TECS will incorporate the design and development of a contextualised FDSV training package for CALD Communities and Faith Leaders aligned to the National Plan’s Prevention and Early Intervention domains and the Recognise, Respond, Refer framework.

 

Working closely with the Head of Community Engagement, This role will be responsible for and have oversight of the planning, management, implementation and evaluation the TECS program – internally coded as  Family, Domestic, and Sexual Violence (FDSV) Program. The role will be responsible for managing the subcontractor and all contractual obligations and provide strategic leadership, guidance and coordination to ensure program activities and deliverables are met. Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly DSS, partners, and the family violence sector, the Program Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining a successful program, throughout transition, establishment phases and then, business as usual.

 

About You

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Program Manager ready to make a significant impact in this challenging and rewarding role.

 

Main Responsibilities but not limited to:

     * Coordinate and manage a national program including staff and financial management

     * Lead state-wide advocacy for migrant and refugees subjected to DFV in collaboration with other units

     * Work closely with the Head of CE to develop, implement and manage the program

     * Manage the project cycle, including delivery of objectives, budget management, project planning, risk management, marketing strategies and reporting to stakeholders eg: DSS, partners in the delivery.

     * Collaborate with other units in SSI and contribute to building DFV capability

     * Contribute to research, policy development and briefings as relevant

     * Ensure the wellbeing of the team, build a cohesive team spirit so that the team can respond with confidence and goodwill towards each other

     * Engage in campaigns such as 16 Days of Activism on Gender base violence and others as identified

     * Build and nurture productive relationships across communities and faith leaders, child and family services, government and other key stakeholders to build awareness of and support for the Family Violence training program, in a wide range of geographical locations, and the opportunities it presents to support the Sector.

     * Guide and support quality assurance strategies, data informed decision making and continuous improvement in all areas across the Family Violence programs including L&D content, delivery and customer service.

     * Other duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and capacity.

Essential Criteria

     * Degree in Social Sciences

     * Program management in related areas or equivalent experience

     * Program management – Demonstrated experience leading projects/programs and being responsible for management of budgets, schedules, procurement, change management, risk management, reporting, and delivery of program objectives on time, to a high quality, and within budget.

     * Stakeholder management – Experience building relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including the ability to manage stakeholders’ expectations and facilitate discussions across high risk and complexity, to build consensus and address issues promptly and effectively.

     * Written and verbal communication skills –The ability to confidently convey ideas and information with clarity and a deep understanding of audience and purpose. High-level written skills, and the ability to communicate with multiple and diverse audiences.

     * Expertise and skills to work in the DFV sector, including exposure to case work, safety considerations and risk

     * Multicultural background or extensive experience with multicultural communities

     * Knowledge of the current policy environment around DFSV

     * Leadership skills for team work and collaboration

     * Analytical skills related to data, evidence gathering and research
