Ngaimpe Aboriginal Corporation operates The Glen, the only indigenous drug and alcohol rehabilitation servicing the Central Coast and wider NSW. The Glen’s award-winning program are designed to treat a client in a holistic manner. This means treating the person as a whole (spiritually, mentally, culturally and physically). It also means trying to not just treat their addiction but the things that may be causing the addictive behaviours.

After clients complete the 12-week residential program, they have an opportunity to apply for our transition program. The transition program supports clients back into the community, such as helping them find employment and / or learn a new skill.

About the role

About the role

The case manager is responsible for managing clients through the transition program, understanding and documenting their needs and liaising with the right services or stakeholders. The case manager is required to manage case files and also enter client data onto various online reporting tools.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum relevant Tertiary-level qualifications.
  • NSW Driver’s licence Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Understanding of 12 steps of AA and NA.
  • Ability to work with aboriginal people (approx. 60% of clients).
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional administrative, data entering, computer and IT skills. Minimum typing speed of 50wpm.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices, drug and alcohol issues, mental health issues and the employment sector.
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

The full time job:

The successful applicants will negotiate a part time / full time position (4 or 5 days per week) and the hours may vary slightly from week to week. The successful applicant may be required to work from 11am-7pm at least one day per week (Wednesday). The pay rate and days worked will be negotiated depending on experience and qualifications but it is estimated that the total package would be worth approx. $65k – 75k per year (full time position). You will be required to complete a federal police clearance and reference check.
