The Presenters
James L’Estrange, Former CEO at Cancer Council NSW
Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma of Education and a Masters of Arts (History).Over the last 25 years, Jim has held a number of executive leadership roles across a diverse range of industries, including finance, entertainment and sports. Most recently, he has been in the position of CEO cancer council, NSW for 3 years.
After spending more than 15 years in senior management roles in banking, including as General Manager of Private Bank at Westpac, Jim moved to Star City as Managing Director, where he focused on creating a customer service culture and fostering employee engagement and performance. Jim has also held the position of CEO at NSW Rugby Union and the NSW Waratahs, where he drove an increase in community engagement and participation, and developed strong partnerships and sponsorships.
Aaron Dahl, Senior Associate – McCullough Robertson
Aaron has over ten years’ experience as a corporate lawyer with McCullough Robertson. In that time, he has acted as lead advisor to non-profit entities on a broad range of matters and has a deep understanding of issues facing the non-profit sector. In particular, Aaron is often engaged by non-profit clients to provide guidance on their most complex legal matters such as mergers, corporate governance issues and advice regarding directors’ duties. In providing advice on these matters, Aaron often draws on his experience advising ASX listed companies and significant private enterprises
Andrew Lam, Director – Taxation, Hill Rogers
Andrew is both a chartered tax adviser and a solicitor, having worked within leading taxation advisory teams in chartered accounting firms (both big 4 and mid-tier) and a top-tier law firm. He has deep experience in taxation advisory matters and has a particular focus and interest in not-for-profits. His practice includes tax advice in connection with business purchase and sales transactions, undertaking tax due diligence assignments, structuring investments, international tax, general tax planning and tax reviews of not-for-profit entities. Andrew has a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws (Taxation) and is a Chartered Tax Advisor.
Vishal Modi, Director – Audit & Assurance, Hill Rogers
Vishal’s expertise is in providing membership based organisations, commercial entities and not-for-profits with expert advice and guidance with their assurance requirements. Vishal has been with Hill Rogers for over 10 years and has more than 18 years’ experience as a professional in the audit area. He is focused on building strong partnerships with his clients. He is passionate about advising and implementing efficient risk management controls and effecting long term sustainable improvements in business outcomes. Vishal has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and is a Registered Company Auditor.
